A few months back, I posted about Delta trialing a concept called Basic Economy, a basic economy fare that doesn’t allow you to select your seat or earn frequent flyer miles.

One of my readers emailed me asking if he should be concerned about this.

It appears that Delta has largely dropped the Basic Economy concept. I couldn’t find any Basic Economy fares on the Delta website and there hasn’t been much discussion on FlyerTalk about this lately. Although there could be exceptions, I have not heard of anyone booking a Delta flight through their corporate travel provider that didn’t earn miles or allow them to select a seat.
