I’m pretty sure that there are no four-legged friends reading this blog, but for those of you who like to travel with your pets and have heard horror stories about kittens freezing to death, there is an alternative to checking your pets as cargo on a commercial flight.
Pet Airways specializes in pet transport, offering attentive, personalized service. They fly all of their “pawsengers” in the “main cabin” of their Beechcraft 1900 aircraft.
Reservations are not yet available online, and different rates are charged by the size of the pet. Pets land in Denver and New York for potty breaks and are checked on every 15 minutes by a flight attendant. You drop off and pick up your pet in one of Pet Airways’ “pet lounges”.
It’s actually quite funny to think about a Pet Airways flight attendant pushing a drink cart down the aisle, giving treats to dogs and cats. I wonder if the first class pawsengers get complementary chew toys…Currently, Pet Airways only flies to Atlanta, Washington D.C.,Chicago, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, New York, Omaha, and Phoenix.
